McCowen’s Longspur (male)

Longspur

The Longspur is a smaller, open country bird residing in short-grass plains and prairies in Canada and the United States. To stake its claim, at about 60 feet in the air and supporting itself with a brisk motion of its wings, it descends like a parachutist—singing all the while down. The nest drawn of sticks and shells, came from a doodle in my notebook which I incorporated after.
