Inspired by vintage botanical prints, this series of watercolours are a wonderful way to practice colour and form. They are a meditation of sorts, where I get lost in the details and the tactile feel of brush on heavy textured paper.
These original paintings are then transformed into surface design by scanning them into photoshop and creating a repeat pattern. The pattern is digitally printed on to fabric which I use to hand-sew products like throw pillows and table linens.
